At-Home Permant
Hair Removal
There are a multitude of hair removal options that are
perfect for you. There are essentially two kinds of hair
removal processes.
Permament hair
removal methods look to do away with unwanted hair for
good. Sometimes these procedures can be semi-permanent and
require the process to be repeated over again. Non permanent
hair removal methods work for for a short period of time and
are contingent on the body's normal hair growth cycle.
Most modern females deal with hair removal
as a normal part of their cosmetic reimen. They shave
their underarms and legs, form their eyebrows, and have
pubic hair trimmed or removed to accommodate today's
styles. Men on occasion also shave some of their more
hairy locations for cosmetic reasons, and most men shave
their faces unless they are deliberately growing it out as
a beard, goatee, or moustache. There are always medical
reasons for getting rid of hair and the not uncommon 'i
just wanted to' reasons as well.
Electrolysis has been a very popular method and treats each
hair follicle individually by injecting a needle into the
follicle of the hair and applying an electric charge. This
procedure can go on for months based upon the location and size
of the area where treatments are being applied. This is a
relatively painful process, and side effects can include the
possibility of scaring and infection. Expenses can be as high
as $1,000 to $3,000 for the legs or pubic area.
Laser hair removal is an FDA approved treatment that is best
performed by a certified and licensed medical professional.
Though this process is somewhat complex essentially, a focused
laser beam is used to kill the hair follicles. The treatment is
a relatively painless procedure that is most effective on
persons who have a fair complexion and a dark colored hair. It
is not recommended if you are deeply tanned. Costs run around
$1,000 for the removal of hair on the face, and from $2,000 to
$3,000 for hair removal from the legs and pubic area.
Similar to the Laser treatment above, this FDA approved
Pulsed Laser process utilizes a pulsed light beam to eradicate
the follicles of the hair. This method is especially effective
for removing hair from the sensitive armpit and the bikini
area. This advanced procedure eliminates any restrictions
regarding skin tone, tanning, or hair color. Costs range from
$500 to $2,000 and up, dependent upon the area of the body
treated.
Temporary removal of unwanted hair methods include a number
of hair removal creams, shaving, plucking, waxing, and more
irregular routines. What a unique contradiction. While it seems
like half the adults are committing billions of dollars to grow
new hair, make it shiny and soft, or have it cut just right,
the remainder of us are laying out our hard earned cash trying
to get rid of it!
