Hair Removal
Product Comparison
If you worry about hair growth conditions or you just
have normal hair growth in sites that take away from your
appearance, there are many very effective hair removal choices
available today. There are fundamentally two types of hair
removal routines.
'Permament' processes look to eliminate unwanted hair for
good. Sometimes these techniques can be semi-permanent and have
to be repeated over time. Non permanent hair removal techniques
are effective for for a limited time and are contingent on the
body's normal hair growth cycle.
A lot of women treat hair removal as part
of their normal cosmetic routine. Women shave their legs
and underarms, tweezer their eyebrows, and have pubic hair
trimmed or removed to take advantage of today's designer
fashions. Some men also shave some of their more hairy
locations for cosmetic effect, and just about all males
shave their facial hair unless they are intentionally
growing a full beard, goatee, or moustache. Then there are
always medical reasons for getting rid of hair and just
plain old 'i just wanted to' reasons too.
Electrolysis is a standard treatment that treats each hair
follicle separately by inserting a needle into the follicle of
the hair and applying an electric charge. This treatment can
spread over months dependent upon the location and size of the
area where treatments are being applied. This process can be
very uncomfortable, and there can be side effects that can
include infection and scarring occasionally. Costs can run as
high as $1,000 to $3,000 for the legs or pubic area.
Laser hair removal is an FDA approved process that requires
it to be administered by a certified and licensed medical
professional. During this procedure, a small laser beam is used
to eradicate the hair follicles. The treatment is a relatively
painless procedure that is most effective on persons who have
light skin and a dark colored hair. People with a deep tan
should not consider this procedure. Expect an outlay of about
$1,000 for the removal of hair on the face, and anywhere from
$2,000 to $3,000 for removal of unwanted hair from the pubic
area or legs.
Similar to the Laser treatment above, this FDA approved
Pulsed Laser process utilizes a pulsed light beam to do away
with the follicles of the hair. This newer procedure is highly
effective for eliminating hair from the underarms and the
bikini zone. There are no restrictions regarding skin tone,
tanning, or hair color. Expect to pay from $500 to $2,000 and
up, dependent upon which area of the body is treated.
Non permanent hair
removal methods of unwanted hair include numbers of
hair removal creams, shaving, plucking, waxing, and more
unorthodox procedures. What a contrast of purpose. While
millions of balding and hair thinning people are spending
billions of dollars to foster new hair, make it soft and shiny,
or have it cut just right, the rest of us are sending our
dollars attempting to get rid of it!
