There are a number of effective hair removal alternatives
for you to choose from. There are basically two categories of
hair removal procedures.
'Permament' procedures aim to remove unwanted hair so that
it will not regrow. Sometimes these procedures turn out to be
semi-permanent and need to be repeated over again. Temporary
hair removal procedures are effective for for a limited time
and are subject to the body's normal rate of hair growth.
Most women handle hair removal as a normal
part of their cosmetic reimen. Ladies shave their armpits
and legs, pluck their eyebrows, and have their pubic hairs
trimmed or taken off to fit today's fashion styles. Men on
occasion also shave their body hair for cosmetic puposes,
and virtually all men shave their beards unless they are
deliberately growing it out as a beard, goatee, or
moustache. There are always medical reasons for
eliminating hair and the not uncommon 'because' reasons as
well.
Electrolysis treats every hair follicle one by one by
injecting a needle into the hair follicle and administering an
electric charge. This process can require multiple treatments
based upon the dimension of the area undergoing treatment. This
procedure can be painful, and side effects can include the
possibility of scaring and infection. Expenses can be as high
as $1,000 to $3,000 for the pubic area or legs.
Laser removal of
unwanted hair is an FDA approved process which should only be
performed by a highly trained and certified professional. When
you are undergoing this procedure, a small laser beam is
utilized to get rid of the hair follicles. This is a relatively
painless procedure which works best on those with light colored
skin and dark hair. Deeply tanned individuals should not use
this treatment. Expenses are about $1,000 for the removal of
hair on the face, and a range from $2,000 to $3,000 for hair
removal from the legs and pubic area.
Similar to LASER treatment, this FDA approved Pulsed Laser
process uses a pulsed light beam to destroy the hair follicles.
This process is extremely effective for eliminating hair from
the sensitive armpit and the bikini zone. This advanced
procedure eliminates any restrictions regarding skin tone,
tanning, or color of hair. Costs range from $500 to $2,000 and
up, based upon the area of the body treated.
Non permanent hair removal methods include a wide variety of
hair removal creams, shaving, plucking, waxing, and more unique
procedures. What a contrast of purpose. While it seems like
half the adults are spending billions of dollars to develop new
hair, make it soft and managable, or have it cut just perfect,
the remainder of us are sending our hard earned cash seeking to
get rid of it!
