There are basically two kinds of hair removal
routines.
1) Permament treatments aim to get rid of unwanted hair in
such a way that it never returns. Sometimes these procedures
can be semi-permanent and have to be repeated over again.
2) Temporary hair removal techniques provide results for
short periods of time and are subject to the body's normal rate
of hair growth.
A lot of women handle hair removal as part
of their daily routine. They shave their legs and armpits,
shape their eyebrows, and have pubic hair trimmed or taken
off to fit today's fashions. Some men also shave some of
their more hairy locations for cosmetic effect, and just
about all adult and adolescent males shave their faces
unless they are intentionally growing a beard, goatee, or
moustache. Then there are always medical reasons for
eliminating hair and sometimes hard to understand 'i just
wanted to' reasons as well.
Electrolysis treats every hair follicle on an individual
basis by introducing a needle into the follicle of the hair and
applying an electric charge. This procedure can require
multiple treatments depending upon the condition and size of
the area where treatments are being applied. This is a
relatively painful process, and side effects can include
scaring and infection. Expenses can be as high as $1,000 to
$3,000 for the legs or pubic area.
Laser removal of unwanted hair is an FDA approved procedure
that is best performed by a certified and licensed
professional. When you are undergoing this procedure, a
concentrated laser beam is utilized to destroy the hair
follicles. The treatment is a relatively painless procedure
that has the best results on those with fair skin and dark
hair. People with a deep tan should not consider this
procedure. Expenses are about $1,000 for the removal of facial
hair, and from $2,000 to $3,000 for removal of unwanted hair
from the pubic area or legs.
A more advanced laser treatment, this FDA approved Pulsed
Laser procedure utilizes a pulsed light beam to destroy the
hair follicles. This process is extremely effective for getting
rid of hair from the sensitive armpit and the groin or bikini
area. This advanced procedure eliminates any restrictions
regarding skin fairness, tanning, or hair color. Outlays for
this procedure are from $500 to $2,000 and up, based upon which
area of the body is treated.
Non permanent removal of unwanted hair methods include a
number of hair removal creams, shaving, pulling, bikini waxing, and more
unorthodox routines. What a dichotomy. While it seems like half
the adults are committing billions of dollars to develop new
hair, make it shiny and healthy, or have it cut just perfect,
the rest of us are spending our bucks attempting to get rid of
it!
