Hair
Removal
Method for
Teens
There are an endless number of hair removal alternatives
available to you. There are essentially two categories of hair
removal treatments.
1) 'Permament' processes look to eliminate unwanted
hair so that it will not regrow. Sometimes these methods are
only semi-permanent and need to be repeated over time.
2) Non permanent hair removal methods are
effective for for a limited time and are contingent on the
body's normal hair growth cycle.
A lot of women approach hair removal as part of their
daily routine. Women shave their legs and underarms, shape
their eyebrows, and have their pubic hairs trimmed or taken off
to take advantage of today's styles. Men to a lesser degree
also shave some areas for cosmetic reasons, and nearly all
adult and adolescent males shave their beards unless they are
purposely growing a full beard, goatee, or moustache. There are
always medical reasons for eliminating hair and sometimes hard
to understand 'i just wanted to' reasons as well.
Electrolysis treats every hair follicle separately by
introducing a needle into the hair follicle and administering
an electric charge. This exercise can spread over months
dependent upon the condition and size of the area where
treatments are being applied. This process can be very
uncomfortable, and side effects can include infection and
scarring occasionally. Expenditures for this treatment can be
as high as $1,000 to $3,000 for the legs or pubic area.
Laser hair removal is an FDA approved process that requires
it to be administered by a highly trained and certified
practitioner. During this procedure, a small laser beam is used
to do away with the hair follicles. The treatment is a
relatively painless procedure that is most effective on persons
who have light skin and a dark colored hair. Deeply tanned
individuals should not use this treatment. Expect an outlay of
about $1,000 for the removal of hair around the face area, and
a range from $2,000 to $3,000 for removal of unwanted hair from
the legs and pubic area.
Similar to LASER treatment, this FDA approved Pulsed Laser
treatment employs a pulsed light beam to eradicate the hair
follicles. This newer procedure is highly effective for
removing hair from the underarms and the bikini area. The
benefit of this method is that there are no restrictions
regarding skin tone, tanning, or hair color. Expect to pay from
$500 to $2,000 and up, dependent upon the area of the body
treated.
Temporary removal of unwanted hair techniques include a
multitude of hair removal creams, shaving, tweezing, waxing,
and more unique procedures. What a contrast of purpose. While
millions of balding and hair thinning people are spending
billions of dollars to foster new hair, make it shiny and soft,
or have it cut just right, the rest of us are sending our
dollars seeking to get rid of it!
