Removal
'Permament' routines look to remove unwanted hair
permanently. Sometimes these procedures are only semi-permanent
and require the process to be repeated once more. Non permanent
hair removal procedures work for short periods of time and are
contingent on the body's normal hair growth cycle.
Many females handle hair removal as part of
their daily routine. Ladies shave their armpits and legs,
form their eyebrows, and have their pubic hairs groomed or
removed to take advantage of today's fashions. Men to a
lesser degree also shave their body hair for cosmetic
effect, and virtually all males shave their beards unless
they are intentionally growing it out as a beard, goatee,
or moustache. And do not forget that there are medical
reasons for getting rid of hair and sometimes hard to
understand 'because I felt like it' reasons also.
Electrolysis is a standard treatment that treats each hair
follicle individually by inserting a needle into the follicle
of the hair and applying an electric charge. This process can
spread over months dependent upon the dimension of the area
where treatments are being applied. This process can be very
uncomfortable, and there can be side effects that can include
the possibility of scaring and infection. Expenditures for this
treatment can be as high as $1,000 to $3,000 for body hair removal, the legs or
pubic area.
Laser hair removal is an FDA approved procedure that
requires it to be administered by a highly trained and
certified medical professional. When you are undergoing this
procedure, a small laser beam is utilized to eliminate the hair
follicles. The treatment is a relatively painless procedure
that is most effective on those who have a light complexion and
a dark colored hair. Deeply tanned individuals should not use
this treatment. Expenses are about $1,000 for the removal of
facial hair, and a range from $2,000 to $3,000 for removal of
unwanted hair from the pubic area or legs.
A more advanced laser treatment, this FDA approved Pulsed
Laser procedure employs a pulsed light beam to eradicate the
follicles of the hair. This method is especially effective for
getting rid of hair from the very sensitive underarm area and
the bikini zone. This advanced procedure eliminates any
restrictions regarding skin tone, tanning, or hair color.
Expect to pay from $500 to $2,000 and up, based upon which area
of the body is treated.
Temporary removal of unwanted hair methods include a wide
variety of hair
removal creams, shaving, pulling, waxing, and more exotic
routines. What a dichotomy. While it seems like half the adults
are committing billions of dollars to foster new hair, make it
shiny and soft, or have it cut that special way, the rest of us
are laying out our dollars attempting to get rid of it!
