Hair
Removal
There are fundamentally two categories of hair removal
routines.
1) 'Permament' procedures look to remove unwanted hair
so that it will not regrow. Sometimes these procedures turn out
to be semi-permanent and require the process to be repeated
again.
2)Temporary hair removal procedures are effective for a week
or two and are contingent on the body's normal hair growth
cycle.
A lot of women treat hair removal as a
component of their normal makeup routine. Females shave
their armpits and legs, form their eyebrows, and have
their pubic hairs trimmed or removed to suit today's
fashion styles. Some men also shave certain body areas for
cosmetic effect, and almost all males shave their facial
hair unless they are deliberately growing a full beard,
goatee, or moustache. And do not forget that there are
medical reasons for removing hair and sometimes hard to
understand 'cuz I felt like it' reasons too.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is a standard treatment that treats each hair
follicle separately by injecting a needle into the hair
follicle and applying an electric charge. This procedure can be
lengthy based upon the location and size of the area where
treatments are being applied. This process can be very
uncomfortable, and side effects can include the possibility of
scaring and infection. Expenditures for this treatment can be
as high as $1,000 to $3,000 for the pubic area or legs.
Laser Hair
Removal
Laser removal of unwanted hair is an FDA approved procedure
which should only be performed by a certified and licensed
medical professional. When you are undergoing this procedure, a
concentrated laser beam is employed to eliminate the hair
follicles. The treatment is a relatively painless procedure
that has the best results on those who have light skin and a
dark colored hair. It is not recommended if you are deeply
tanned. Expect an outlay of about $1,000 for the removal of
hair on the face, and a range from $2,000 to $3,000 for hair
removal from the pubic area or legs.
Similar to the Laser treatment above, this FDA approved
Pulsed Laser treatment employs a pulsed light beam to get rid
of the hair follicles. This method is especially effective for
eliminating hair from the sensitive armpit and the bikini area.
The benefit of this method is that there are no restrictions
regarding skin color, tanning, or hair color. Costs range from
$500 to $2,000 and up, dependent upon which area of the body is
treated.
Temporary Hair Removal
Non permanent removal of unwanted hair techniques include a
multitude of hair removal creams,
shaving, plucking, waxing, and more unorthodox processes. What
a contrast of purpose. While it seems like half the adults are
committing billions of dollars to develop new hair, make it
soft and shiny, or have it cut just right, the rest of us are
sending our money attempting to get rid of it!
