Method
Permament hair removal procedures seek to do away with
unwanted hair in such a way that it never returns. Sometimes
these techniques turn out to be semi-permanent and have to be
repeated again.
Temporary hair removal methods are effective for a week or
two and are contingent on the body's normal rate of hair
growth.
Most modern males treat body hair removal as a chore.
They shave their underarms and legs, form their eyebrows,
and have their pubic hairs trimmed or removed to suit
today's designer fashions.
Men on occasion also shave some areas for cosmetic puposes,
and almost all men shave their beards unless they are purposely
growing a full beard, goatee, or moustache. Then there are
always medical reasons for removing hair and sometimes hard to
understand 'because I felt like it' reasons also.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is a standard treatment that treats each hair
follicle on an individual basis by inserting a needle into the
hair follicle and administering an electric charge. This
procedure can go on for months based upon the size of the area
being treated. These treatments can be somewhat painful, and
there can be side effects that can include the possibility of
scaring and infection. Costs can run as high as $1,000 to
$3,000 for the pubic area or legs.
Laser Hair Removal Treatments
Laser removal of unwanted hair is an FDA approved process
which should only be performed by a licensed and trained
medical professional. When you are undergoing this procedure, a
small laser beam is used to eliminate the hair follicles. The
treatment is a relatively painless procedure that has the best
results on patients with a light complexion and a dark colored
hair. It is not recommended if you are deeply tanned. Expect an
outlay of about $1,000 for the removal of hair on the face, and
a range from $2,000 to $3,000 for hair removal from the pubic
area or legs.
Similar to the Laser treatment above, this FDA approved
Pulsed Laser process uses a pulsed light beam to destroy the
follicles of the hair. This method is especially effective for
getting rid of hair from the more sensitive underarms and the
bikini area. This advanced procedure eliminates any
restrictions regarding skin tone, tanning, or hair color.
Expect to pay from $500 to $2,000 and up, dependent upon the
treatment area.
Temporary Hair
Removal
Non permanent removal of unwanted hair practices include a
multitude of hair removal creams, shaving, plucking, waxing,
and more irregular routines. What a contrast of purpose. While
it seems like half the adults are committing billions of
dollars to develop new hair, make it shiny and healthy, or have
it cut just perfect, the remainder of us are sending our bucks
attempting to get rid of it!
