Exist?
If you suffer from hair growth issues like hypertrichosis or hirsutism, or your hair is growing in
sites where you would rather it not, there are many very
effective hair removal options available today. There are
fundamentally two kinds of hair removal procedures.
'Permament' treatments seek to do away with unwanted hair so
that it will not regrow. Sometimes these procedures turn out to
be semi-permanent and need to be repeated again. Temporary hair
removal methods are effective for for a limited time and are
contingent on the body's normal rate of hair growth.
Most women deal with hair removal as a.
Females shave their legs and armpits, pluck their
eyebrows, and have pubic hair trimmed or removed to fit
today's fashions. Men to a lesser degree also shave some
areas for cosmetic reasons, and most males shave their
facial hair unless they are intentionally growing a full
beard, goatee, or moustache. Then there are medical
reasons for getting rid of hair and the not uncommon 'i
just wanted to' reasons too.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis treats every hair follicle individually by
inserting a needle into the hair follicle and subjecting it to
an electric charge. This process can require multiple
appointments dependent upon the condition and size of the area
where treatments are being applied. This process can be very
uncomfortable, and there can be side effects that can include
infection and scarring occasionally. Expenditures for this
treatment can be as high as $1,000 to $3,000 for the pubic area
or legs.
Laser
Laser hair removal is an FDA approved process that requires
it to be administered by a highly trained and certified
professional. During this procedure, a focused laser beam is employed to
eradicate the hair follicles. This is a relatively painless
procedure that is most effective on patients with fair skin and
a dark colored hair. It is not recommended if you are deeply
tanned. Cost of the procedure runs around $1,000 for the
removal of hair around the face area, and from $2,000 to $3,000
for hair removal from the pubic area or legs.
Similar to LASER treatment, this FDA approved Pulsed Laser
process utilizes a pulsed light beam to eradicate the hair
follicles. This process is extremely effective for eliminating
hair from the sensitive armpit and the bikini area. The benefit
of this method is that there are no restrictions regarding skin
fairness, tanning, or hair color. Expect to pay from $500 to
$2,000 and up, based upon which area of the body is
treated.
Permanent Hair Removal Cream? No
Way!
Temporary hair removal practices include a number of
hair removal
creams, shaving, plucking, waxing, and more irregular
treatments. What a dichotomy. While it seems like half the
adults are committing billions of dollars to grow new hair,
make it soft and managable, or have it cut just perfect, the
rest of us are laying out our dollars trying to get rid of
it!
