Removal on
Men &
Women
If you worry about hair growth conditions like
hypertrichosis or hirsutism, or you just have normal hair
growth in sites where it should not, there are many very
effective hair removal options that meet your needs. There are
basically two types of hair removal processes.
'Permament' treatments look to remove unwanted hair in such
a way that it never returns. Sometimes these techniques can be
semi-permanent and have to be repeated every so often.
Temporary hair removal
procedures provide results for for a short period of time
and are contingent on the body's metabolic rate and resulting
hair growth rate.
Dealing With Unwanted Hair
Many females deal with hair removal as part
of their normal cosmetic routine. Ladies shave their legs
and underarms, form their eyebrows, and have pubic hair
trimmed or removed to take advantage of today's fashion
styles. Men on occasion also shave some areas for cosmetic
reasons, and just about all males shave their facial hair
unless they are deliberately growing a full beard, goatee,
or moustache. And do not forget that there are medical
reasons for removing hair and the not uncommon 'cuz I felt
like it' reasons too.
Electrolysis Method
Electrolysis is a standard treatment that treats each hair
follicle individually by inserting a needle into the follicle
of the hair and subjecting it to an electric charge. This
procedure can require multiple appointments depending upon the
condition and size of the area being treated. This process can
be very uncomfortable, and side effects can include the
possibility of scaring and infection. Costs can run as high as
$1,000 to $3,000 for the legs or pubic area.
Try Laser Hair Removal
Laser removal of unwanted hair is an FDA approved treatment
which should only be performed by a certified and licensed
professional. When you are undergoing this procedure, a small
laser beam is employed to get rid of the hair follicles. The
treatment is a relatively painless procedure that is most
effective on persons who have a light complexion and dark hair.
People with a deep tan should not consider this procedure.
Expenses are about $1,000 for the removal of facial hair, and
anywhere from $2,000 to $3,000 for removal of unwanted hair
from the legs and pubic area.
Similar to LASER treatment, this FDA approved Pulsed Laser
treatment uses a pulsed light beam to eliminate the follicles
of the hair. This process is extremely effective for getting
rid of hair from the very sensitive underarm area and the
bikini area. This advanced procedure eliminates any
restrictions regarding skin tone, tanning, or color of hair.
Costs range from $500 to $2,000 and up, based upon the area of
the body treated.
Temporary Hair Removal Alternatives
Temporary removal of unwanted hair techniques include a
multitude of hair removal creams, shaving, pulling, waxing, and
more exotic treatments. What a unique contradiction. While
millions of balding and hair thinning people are investing
billions of dollars to grow new hair, make it shiny and
healthy, or have it cut just perfect, the rest of us are laying
out our money seeking to get rid of it!
