A lot of women handle hair removal as part of their normal
cosmetic routine. Ladies shave their legs and underarms, shape
their eyebrows, and have their pubic hairs groomed or taken off
to take advantage of today's fashions.
Men on occasion also shave their body hair for cosmetic
effect, and nearly all men shave their faces unless they are
deliberately growing a beard, goatee, or moustache. And do not
forget that there are medical reasons for getting rid of hair
and sometimes hard to understand 'because' reasons also.
Electrolysis is a standard treatment that treats each hair
follicle separately by inserting a needle into the hair
follicle and applying an electric charge. This procedure can go
on for months dependent upon the location and size of the area
undergoing treatment.
This is a relatively painful process, and there can be side
effects that can include infection and scarring occasionally.
Expenses can be as high as $1,000 to $3,000 for the legs or
pubic area.
Laser hair removal is an FDA approved process that is best
performed by a highly trained and certified practitioner. When
you are undergoing this procedure, a focused laser beam is used
to do away with the hair follicles.
The laser treatment is
a relatively painless procedure that has the best results on
persons who have light colored skin and a dark colored hair.
Deeply tanned individuals should not use this treatment. Expect
an outlay of about $1,000 for the removal of facial hair, and
from $2,000 to $3,000 for removal of unwanted hair from the
legs and pubic area.
Similar to the Laser treatment above, this FDA approved
Pulsed Laser procedure utilizes a pulsed light beam to do away
with the hair follicles. This method is especially effective
for getting rid of hair from the underarms and the groin or
bikini area.
There are no restrictions regarding skin fairness, tanning,
or color of hair. Expect to pay from $500 to $2,000 and up,
depending upon the area of the body treated.
Temporary hair removal techniques include numbers of hair
removal creams, shaving, pulling, waxing, and more unique
routines. What a unique contradiction. While it seems like half
the adults are spending billions of dollars to develop new
hair, make it soft and shiny, or have it cut that special way,
the remainder of us are laying out our bucks attempting to get
rid of it!
